It's A Frigged Up World
Written by: Diamond (Jackie) and Silverspot (Connie)

Sarah was sittin on da statue of Horace Greeley when she decided to go pay Jack a li'tle visit. As she walked along a small path in Central Park, she kept thinking of how surprised Jack was gonna be when she showed up at his doorstep. Afta da strike, Jack became real famous and was able to get a second job dat paid more, he would have quit sellin papes if it weren't fer all 'is friends and all da fun he had soakin scabbas. So Sarah continued on her way to meet her beloved Jack, he thought she was woiken and WASN'T expecting her...while at 'is front door, all she thought about was how she couldn't WAIT to see the look on his face! After a few times of knockin, Jack FINALLY came ta da door, and seein Sarah standin before him, nearly passed out. "What are you doing here?!?! I thought you were woiken!! Shouldn't you be...well....SOMEWHERE ELSE?!?!?" Sarah couldn't believe what she was hearing! Did Jack REALLY not want her to be here? Was Jack tryin to get RID of her? "Oh Jaaaaackie-Baby!! Who's at the door sweetums?" Jack was tryin desperatly to cover for da mysterious Swedish Meadowlark dat lay concealed in 'is bedroom, but Sarah KNEW sumtim was up. Sarah stormed past Jack and ran inta 'is bedroom ta discover Medda layin in Jack's bed wit her clothes on da floor next ta her. Sarah screamed as loud as she could possibly manage and ran out of da small, run-down house. While runnin back to her own apartment building, she tripped ova da train tracks and got her foot stuck. Far off she could hear da faint sound of a train that seemed ta be gettin closer and closer by da second. She tried frantically ta git her foot free and she could soon see da train makin it's way down da tracks. She looked around for someone to help...but no one was dere. She yelled fer help...but no one was around to hear her. She tugged and tugged at her foot...but it didn't even budge. She saw da train only a few feet away...but it just didn't stop. BAM!!! Yup...Sarah was as dead as dead could be. Small loss...meanwhile...

"Awww Cowboy I thought you got rid a Sarah..." Medda cooed into Jack's ear. Jack smiled, "I am baby...dont worry bout it." Jack leaned down and kissed Medda.

Dave ran as fast as he could. "Young man, STOP!!" cried a police officer as he ran after Dave. His heart beat in his chest, "Jack'll be proud a me now!" The policeman grabbed Dave's shirt, "Your under a rest David Jacobs, straight to the refuge young man...learning from that no good friend of yours." Dave stared up at the man with wide eyes and thoughtto himself, "Maybe I'll finally get some respect from the guys..."

Jack walked along the train tracks humming to himself. He had been thinking about Les lately. Yes little Les. He seemed to be hanging around with Spot a lot lately and it made Jack angry. Les had always looked up to him, but now he seemed to have a growing interest in Spot. Jack shrugged and continued walking. He stopped suddenly and looked down. "Sarah?" Jack whispered to himself. He knelt down next to the body lying in a crumpled heap and shook his head. He stood up and shrugged, "One less thing for me ta worry about." Jack turned and walked towards the Lodging House, "Well see ya around, Doll Face."

When Jack got back to the Lodging House the guys were in a heated game of poker. "Haha! fork ovah da cash Spot! I'se won again!!!" Race yelled. Spot shook his head in disbelief and handed Race the money. Silver hung on Spot's shoulder, "Spo-ot, yer gonna lose all yer money!" Spot shrugged and grinned at Silver, "I'se bound ta win sometime Silvah...dont worry bout it." He leaned down and kissed her quickly. Les looked up from a picture book he was studying and glared at Silver. DiamondTrack grinned, "Haha! dont bet on dat Spot, my Racetrack nevah loses!" Race grinned up at Diamond. Silver stuck her tongue out at Diamond and looked over at Jack, "Heya Cowboy...ya look kinda pale...you ok?" Jack nodded and grinned at Silver, "Yeah..ya know what guys...we need ta have a party..whadda ya say?" Everyone nearly jumped up shoutin their boists of approval. Everyone except Les that is. He just kinda stood there watching Silver's EVERY move. The fact that she was so close to Spot made him quiva wit jeolousy. Why couldn't Spot be dat nice ta him? Even if Spot TALKED to'im, he'd be happy...but nooooo, JACK was the one who looked out fer him. It was JACK who everyone thought he admired and looked up to.

"Maybe this party wouldn't be such a bad idea afta all." Les thought ta hisself. "Maybe...just MAYBE, Spot'll lighten up a bit and be nice ta me, and if he doesn't...i've GOTTA find a way ta make 'im like me!" Jack looked ova at Les just then, the lit'le kid could get pretty annoyin sometimes, but hey, who did Jack think he was foolin? He liked havin a kid look up ta him and wanna be just like him, it gave him a sense of power...something HE loved ta 'ave an' was slightly angry at Spot for havin'.

"OK, so fellas...we're gonna make dis da BIGGEST, LOUDEST, NOISIEST blowout dis towns EVA seen! We's can 'ave it at Irvin' Hall, Medda can help. Just leave it ta me and be dere 8:00, Friday." Jack got tons of applause and cheerin fer dis. He just smirked and sat down on 'is bed thinkin up HIS party.

In da meantime....Davey was bein tossed inta a room wit a bunch a fellas he'd neva seen before. He was in da refuge fer stealin some money and a horse from a couple of guys on da side a da street. He'd hoid about da night Jack took da horse an' den let it go, Dave thought ta hisself dat "Jack was jist a pansy an' didn't 'ave da guts ta keep it hisself, but now...now I'S got da horse, an' nobody knows where it is 'cept me. Jack'll be proud a me dat i got dat horse fer him and den da rest a da guys'll be glad. I'm FINALLY gonna git what I desoive." Li'tle did David know, dat he was gonna git A LOT more den he was expectin...

Diamond and Racetrack strolled up to Jack and smiled. "We got Midtown Jackie-Boy," Race grinned. Diamond giggled, "Dey were real excited seeindat we havent all gotten togetha since da strike." Jack smiled, "Good...good...I just gotta go tawk wit Medda about arrangements an all...don't wait up." Race and Diamond exchanged glances and snickered. They knew not to wait up for Jack when he was out with Medda.

Les wandered around Brooklyn looking for a familiar face. He hadn't gone home in three days and was wondering why his big brother David hadn't come looking for him yet. He kicked at the ground as he walked and hung his head. He had been so depressed lately over Spot and the sight of Silver made his left eye twitch. He wondered if he was allergic to her but then just shrugged as a pang of jealousy hit him in the gut. He was walking towards Spot's pier and saw him sitting on the end dangling his feet over the water while Silver whispered in his ear and giggled. Les grunted and hurried over to them. Les stood in front of them for a minute before Silver pulled away from Spot. Silver sprang to her feet and ruffled Les' hair, "Heya kid what ya up to?" Les glared at Silver and shook his head. Spot looked up at Les and rolled his eyes, "Ya like interruptin me just ta stand dere and ignore people when dey tawk to ya?" Les winced and turned on his heel. Spot shrugged and pulled Silver back down next to him. Spot called to Les, "Hey kid tell Jack dat I got Brooklyn and da Bronx covahed...." A tear slid down Les' cheek as he ran back to Manhattan.

Dave backed against a wall and looked at the boys who were grinning eagerly at him. He recognized one boy as TenPin. He had been the one that Jack talked to the night they tried to get Crutchy out of the refuge. Dave smiled nervously and spit in his hand, "Hey fellahs..." Dave's voice cracked, "My name is uh, David Jacobs. It's nice to meet you all." A big boy in the corner sneered at Dave and crossed his arms, "I see we got ourselves a new friend huh guys?" TenPin chuckled and grinned a devilish grin. Dave smiled, unsure of what was going on and looked around the room, "This is...um nice."

The big boy walked over to David and leered at him, "Names Dodge..." Dave cringed and nodded nervously at Dodge. Dodge looked at TenPin and wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. Dave raised an eyebrow at the boys and thinks to himself, "Wow...I feel just like Jack, he'd be so proud a me!" Little did Dave know that if Jack knew what was going on he would be somewhat less than proud.

"So..yer REALLY gonna have a party fer me?" Mush stared at da beautiful young goyl dat sat in front of 'im. He wanted to say yes, jist so dat she'd love 'im even more fer doin sumtim fer her.

"Awwe, baby...of coise it's fer you, it's gonna be GREAT! There'll be music and dancin and dinna...just like you've awways dreamed of." The young goyl sat up a little and gave Mush a kiss on da cheek. There was a clear difference in age, but he didn't care at all. She came inta 'is life a few months ago, a few days before Christmas and it was ON christmas dat dey started goin out...in secret. Mush, being the "brilliant"guy dat he is, decided to name her Christmas Kitten, because he thought she was so adorable. He called her Kit fer short, but her real name was Noelle and she actually had a well-off family, but she wanted someone she could turn to, someone she could love. Her parents had this crazy idea that she was gonna marry her father's friend's son, but she wasn't gonna be "intended" for anyone but who SHE wanted. She was younger than him, about 13-14 or so...and he had just turned 19. No one knew this though, he looked much younger than he really was. He had told everyone dat he was 15, just so he'd be in da same age group as everyone else. Now he had dis lovely goyl dat no one else knew about, but dey would soon find out about Kit at "her" party....

Jack strolled into Medda's place and smiled, "Hey baby..." Medda turned and sauntered over to Jack, "Kelly..." Medda leaned down and kissed him, hard. Jack leaned back and smiled, "So Medda, I'se wanna have a party. Can we use your place?" Medda smiled and cooed, "Course ya can Jackie-Boy...long as I get ta provide da entertainment...and da after party..." Medda winked and grabbed Jack by his shirt kissing him again.

Mush walked along the dirty streets holding Kit's hand and laughing. Kit giggled and stared into Mush's eyes, "Hey Mush I'se been thinkin..." Mush looked down at Kit with a raised eyebrow,

"Bout what?" Kit looked up at Mush and frowned, "I'se dont wanna be a prostitute anymore. Mush...whatta ya say I become a newsie?" Mush thought for a minute, "But won't Medda be mad?" Kit crossed her arms and pouted, "Medda doesnt own me..she just thinks she does...I dont wanna be an old whore like her." Mush chuckled and nodded, "I suppose your right..as long as you get ta keep all da fun toys she gave ya..." Kit giggled and jumped on Mush's back.

Silver grabbed Les by his shirt, "Look ya liddle pervert...I know dat youse is aftah Spot but ya might as well give up cause he's mine." Les looked up at Silver with hatred and tears streaming down his face. Silver threw Les down and shook her head, "Your jis like your brudda..." Les shook his head furiously at her, "I hate you..." Silver grinned and laughed, "Da feelins mutual kiddo."

Off in Central Park, Diamond and Racetrack walked hand-in-hand lookin fer people dat dey could invite ta da BIG party on Friday. "Hey, Diamond...why do ya think Jack's havin dis party anyways?" Diamond shrugged and thought fer a minute before sayin wit a sly smile, "Maybe it's ta honor our anniversary dat's comin up next weak." Race started ta git panicky, "NEXT WEAK?!?! But...awwe, Diamond i's sorry, i completely fergot!" Diamond started laughin at da poor, practically pathetic look on Race's face. She looked over to her left to notice a small reddish chicken running frantically and flapping it's wings all over the place.

"That [dang] chicken is all over this town! Doesn't it EVER go away??" Race looked startled and thought that maybe Diamond had forgotten about what Race just said, until she started in her a sort of whiny, yet irresistable voice dat Race COULDN'T ignore no matta how hard he tried.

"Awww...RaceTrack! I thought you'd rememba! It's jist lke you ya know, fergettin sumtim as special as dis. Well...what's yer excuse dis time?" Race couldn't think of a single thing ta say, but then he got a huge smile on his face and before he could manage to say anything, Blink came running up to them. "Where's the chicken?? Where is he? I'm gonna find the chicken! Here chicky chicky chicky!!" and just as quckly as Blink had come, he was off again calling for the small chicken. Race and Diamond just looked at each other very confused, but suddenly Diamond asked again about his excuse. His smile returned and he said very jokingly "Well, ya know...wit all dese otha goyls 'a mine, it's kinda hard ta keep up wit each and every anniversary. But, uh...if ya want me ta, i'd git rid of da othas jist so i can be wit da most beautiful, smart, and all-around best goyl i know." Diamond laughed at this witty reply, hit him jokingly, and stole 'is hat. "HEY! Not me hat!!!" She ran off across da park wit Race trailin behind tryin ta git 'is hat back. When he finally caught up, the couple collapsed on the ground in a loving embrace. As they sat there against the tree, the chicken came by again and started circling them and the tree. Blink was there very quickly, and Race and Diamond just sat there watching Blink chase a chicken around them. Race broke the silence by asking "I wonder which is stupider...da chicken...or Blink."

Suddenly a scream pierced through the air. Blink stopped short, the chicken continued to run, and Silver came running towards Blink. Blink looked around and tried desperatly to climb the tree. "Why are you awways tryin ta catch dat chicken? He didn't do anythin ta you! Whattya tink yer gonna do wit him anyways?!?" Silver was screaming up at Blink waiting for a response to her questions. She finally got 'em, "I wanna...i dunno, so? I's gonna make him my pet! I awways wanted a pet, eva since i's was li'tle i wanted a pet. What's so wrong wit a pet? Even if it IS a chicken! I's even picked out a name fer him...Herbie!" Blink finished his sentence with a huge grin on his face. Diamond suddenly chimed in "If he's gonna be yer chicken, shouldn't he 'ave a eye-patch...like you?" She was only being sarcastic, but of course Blink took it seriously "Oh no!" He finally came down from the tree, "Where am i gonna git a eye-patch ta fit a chicken?" Silver cut in with her witty attitude, "whatever happened to catching the chicken?" Blink looked at her very surprised and then sped off to git da chicken. Silver groaned in exhaustion and took off afta him, leaving Race and Diamond alone once more. Diamond started rambling on and on "I can't believe this, everywhere you go there HAS to be someone, you can never be alone, and Blink...well, Blink is just REALLY stupid, I dunno what's wit him and Silvah, she's me pal...but what's up wit da chick-" Race stopped her and looked thoughtfully into her eyes, "Hey Jackie, ya know what." She looked up at him with thoughtful eyes, no one had used her real name in a long time

"What?" Race jist held her closer "I think i love ya." Diamond got a small tear in her eye, no one had ever said dat dey loved her before and she knew dat dis was da foist time Race had eva said it too. "I love you too Christopher Higgins."

Just then, a rather small, reddish chicken came hobbling towards them, but soon walked away. Da two lovebirds just sat dere though on da grass until the stars were shinin up above dem and still... and dat chicken continued to wander the park.

Kit took a deep breath and strolled into Medda's place. She ran up the stairs and threw all of her clothes in a bag. Looking around the room she remembered the first day she had come to the city looking for work. She brushed her hand over a long, black leather whip and thought of Mush. Sure she liked Mush but he was really nothing more to her than a little sex toy. She grinned and tossed the whip into her bag and left Medda a note explaining why she had left.

"Dear Medda, I'm sorry but your just a tired old whore and frankly I cant stand working for you. Have a nice day, Kit." She looked down at the letter with a screwed up face then shrugged and hurried down the fire escape.

Silver grinned up at Spot, "Hey Spot whatta ya say we go ovah ta Manhattan and try ta find Denton. I'm sure he'd love ta come ta Jackie-Boy's liddle party." Spot nodded in thought then suddenly pointed to Blink who was wrestling with a poor chicken that was flailing its wings and squawking like a maniac. Silver put her hand over her face and shook her head, "That boy is an idiot..." Spot snickered and laughed in agreement. Blink looked up at them suddenly and waved, "Oh he-" The chicken suddenly wriggled out of Blink's grasp and was hurrying away. Blink screamed, "HERBIE NO!!! COME BACK HERBIE!!!" Spot doubled over laughing, "Tell me dat he was jist tryin ta put his eye patch on dat poor chicken..." Silver nodded and shrugged. Blink finally pounced on the chicken and walked back to Silver and Spot grinning proudly with his chicken under his arm. Silver rolled her eyes and stood in front of Blink, "Kid...yer gonna get thrown in da city asylum for carryin dat thing around wit your eye patch on it, its da most assanine lookin thing I have evah seen! And honestly none a us wanna look at yer empty eye socket..." Blink stuck out his bottom lip, "Well I dont have anudder patch..." Spot bit his lip to keep from laughing and watched Silver. She sighed and looked around. She bent down and picked up a small red leaf and held it out to him, "Heya." Blink took the leaf and turned it over, "Whats dis fa?" Silver rolled her eyes and grabbed the leaf, "Its fa yer eye stupid..." She slapped the leaf over his eye and put a rubber band around his head, "Dere." Blink raised an eyebrow and grinned, "Wow..tanks Silvah!" Silver smirked and crossed her arms, "Ya look awmost as dumb as dat stupid friggin chicken." Spot nodded and walked up to Blink, "Uh Kid..." Blink grinned at Spot, "Yeah Spot?" Spot opened his mouth but closed it quickly, "Nevahmind." The chicken pecked at Blink's face and he snickered. Silver threw her hands in the air and muttered, "He thinks its a [frickin'] dog...[goodness] when he gets a leash fa it I'm gonna call da loony bin and make em take him away!!!"

Diamond, Race, Silver, and Spot strolled into Medda's place smiling. They walked over to Jack and Race yelled over the crowd, "Hey Jack! Place looks great! Dis party is gonna be terrific!!!" Jack smirked and nodded putting his arm around a shy looking girl sitting next to him. Diamond raised an eyebrow, "Hey Cowboy who's dis?" Jack smiled and looked down at the girl, "Dis heya's Bookmark. She's gonna be stayin wit us fa awhile an I figgered I'd intraduce her ta everyone tanight. Diamond and Silver exchanged glances and smiled at Bookmark, "Nice ta meet ya kiddo. Da names Silver and dis heya is Diamond, Racetrack, and Spot. Bookmark nodded and spoke quietly, "Oh yeah I'se hoid a ya. I'm from da Bronx. Dey tawk about you four all da time ovah dere...Its nice ta meet ya." Spot smirked and put his arm around Silver and laughed, "Here dat guys, dey tawk about us..." Silver rolled her eyes and elbowed Spot. Suddenly Blink burst through the door chicken, leaf, and all. Silver shook her head and closed her eyes, "I know dat he didn't bring dat [dang] chicken wit him...Diamond tell me he doesnt have dat chicken..." Diamond snickered, "Uh...Silvah, he has dat [dang] chicken. "

Davey was sound asleep in his bunk when suddenly Dodge appeared beside him and smacked Dave's head. Dave woke up, startled "Wha...what's goin on?" Dodge looked at Davey and smirked, "We's got a surprise fer ya. Sorta like a...a token of our sympathy fer ya gettin put heya, ya know?" Dave smiled thinking that he really was gonna get a surprise. Dodge continued, "Ya, uh...see, you gotta sneak inta Snyder's room. Ya know...steal sumem from 'is office. It's a lit'le innitiation fer our club heya...everybody does it." Davey looked with amazement, "Everybody? Includin Jack?" Dodge smiled and looked at da others, "Ya...even Jack." Dave decided to do it...tonight. He's never really stole anything, and the chances of him getting away with THIS was very slim, but...if he was going to be accepted...he'd do it.

Denton walked into Irving Hall and met up with the rest of the newsies. "Hiya fellas!" Denton was well liked among the newsies, especially since he usually paid for lunch. Denton looked around the room and noticed Blink with some sort of leaf around his head. "Hey Blink, what's with the leaf?" Blink looked up and smiled, "Well, i had to give my patch to my chicken...his name's Herbie." Blink had a huge grin on his face and held up his chicken for Denton. Denton took one look at the chicken, one look at Blink, and turned around to go find Jack.

Medda backed up against the wall, "What are doing? I got a show to put on, the newsies need me!" Medda turned a shade of sickening white as she saw the knife turning in her attacker's hand. Medda tried to scream, but she was in a state of panic, so all she managed to get out was a small little squeak. Just as her attacker was about to jab the knife into her, the doorknob started to turn...Medda passed out on the floor, and her attacker fled down the fire escape and slipped back into the party unnoticed. Jack opened the door and saw Medda lying on the floor. He ran over and carried her downstairs, as she came to, "Who..who are all of you? Oh...what a cute chicken!" Medda had amnesia.

Les sat up and rubbed his head. He had fallen asleep in an alley a few hours ago and was awoken by the chiming of a distant clock. It was 8 o'clock. He scampered to his feet, realizing that he was going to be very late for Jack's party. He refused to let this thing with Silver and Spot go any further and he had a plan to stop it...tonight. The party was going great. Everyone had kinda forgot about Medda and she was wandering around with Blink and his chicken, "Blink where did you get this beautiful specimen?" "Uh...I been huntin it fa awhile now...his name's Herbie," Blink said proudly. Silver rolled her eyes and sat down next to Jack, she slurred "I'se...gonna kiiiill dat ch-cken..." Jack hung his arms wearily around Silver and Bookmark. Silver put her head on his shoulder and grinned. Bookmark smiled, uneasily realizing just how drunk everyone was. Spot walked uneasily over to Silver and Jack and glared at Jack, "What...do ya tink yer doin Jaaaackie-Boy?" Jack smiled up at him, "Hmmm?" Spot glanced at Silver and stomped over to Jack, staggering the whole way. Jack shot Spot a goofy grin, not realizing what was going on. Spot yanked him up to standing position and threw a very ungraceful punch. Jack's head snapped back and then he pushed Spot into a wall. Spot stumbled back and his eyes flared, "Dat wasnt...a good idea Cowboy," Spot managed to slur. Bookmark turned to Silver, "Arent ya gonna do somethin?" Silver shook her head and stood, "Nah..." Bookmark shrugged and went back to watching Spot and Jack try and stay on their feet while throwing misguided punches at each other. Race was in the center of a big circle taking bets on the fight. "Come on guys da odds are grrrrrreat!" he grinned. Skittery and Boots handed over their money, "I'se got my money on Spot...he has bettah aim when he's drunk..." Itey shook his head and grinned, "Put my money on Jack..."

Les wandered in the door and looked around. His jaw dropped at the sight before his eyes. Silver had her hands wrapped tightly around "Herbie" and Blink was in a corner crying hysterically, "Why? Why do you wanna go at my chicken?!?!" Race was standing on a table surrounded by newsies who were screaming and throwing money at him. Les tilted his head towards him and shrugged. He glanced over at Spot and Jack and did a double take. They were rolling around on the floor and both had a substantial amount of blood surrounding them. Les saw Bookmark lunge at Medda and began crying. Diamond walked over to him and frowned, "Whats amatta kid?"

"What...what's goin on Diamond? Why are Jack and Spot fighting like that?" Diamond looked down at Les, "Awwe...don't worry 'bout it, dey'll figure it out soona or lata." Les started bawling hysterically, "They's gonna kill each otha! It's ova Silvah ain't it? It's all Silvah's fault!!" Diamond just nodded slightly at Les' conclusion and walked away to go watch Race take bets...it was rather funny, especially when everyone was drunk. Les watched Diamond walk away, but soon turned his attention to Silver. He charged at Silver with his wooden sword, but at the last moment, Silver stepped to the side and Les went flying out of the window dropping his sword behind him.

Medda was caught from behind. The sudden jerk of being thrown to the ground had knocked her sense back into her. She let out a large scream, but no one was about to help her...they were all too busy with the BIG fight. Bookmark started to punch Medda, and finally picked up Les' wooden sword that he had dropped and began beating Medda with it. In between the hits Bookmark gave, she finally started to explain why she was there in the first place. "You stole her!" "You took her away from me!" She was me best friend, we's was nearly sistas!" "She USED to be good ta Mush! She USED to care about him!!" "You turned her into one of your own kind!" "Kit was sweet, but you turned her around and now she's NOTHING!!" Medda screamed back with what little energy she had from her excruciating pain, "So why are you here?!?! Couldn't you have you have gotten Kit to do something?" Bookmark smiled evily, "I'm here...to kill ya, i's been hired by otha sluts that 'ave had their lives ruined cuz a you!" A loud squawking sound came from across the room. The chicken had just freed itself from Silver's grasp and came running over to Bookmark and Medda. Medda looked at the chicken, smiled, picked up the chicken by the legs, and started hitting Bookmark with it. Feathers went everywhere as the chicken flailed to get free...again.

Les had landed in a pile of hay and looked around. He sniffled a few times and looked up at the window. Chicken feathers where falling down onto him and stuck to his tear-stricken face. Les ran to the middle of the street and started screaming insanely. He saw a lamp post in front of him, but thought it was Silver and so he started to beat up the lamp post. He tried to hit the post, missed and went falling to the ground. As he looked up, he realized what it really was, but then started seeing Silver all around him. He spun in circles over and over and finally started beating himself up. Police came running in, but Les insisted that he had to save Spot from Silver. Finally, Les had beaten himself to the ground and a few men in white coats came and took him away. He was placed in a white truck that had the words, "Insane Asylum" on it.

Mush walked around New York wondering how the party was going. He passed the Refuge, walked through Central Park, passed the Lodging House and ended up in a side alley near Tibby's. He was thinking of his beloved Kit, when suddenly he heard a neighing sound come from the next alley. He walked over and saw a rather petite, pretty-looking girl trying to calm down a horse. The girl looked up as she heard Mush come by. "I..I found him, in this alley, with a stick-it note saying 'property of Dave.' Are you Dave?" Mush looked at the girl and instantly forgot about Kit. "No...i'm not Dave, I'm Mush. And you are...." The girl explained that her name was Skip and that she used to live on a ranch with horses. Mush smiled at Skip, "Hey...I'm sposed ta be at a party right now..would ya like ta come wit me?" Skip grinned excitedly, "Yeah I'd love ta!"

Mush helped her up on the horse and led it down the street towards Irving Hall.

Diamond leaned against a wall and shook her head, "I dont believe dis..." Race bounded over to her, grinning like a fool, "Hey Diamond!!!! Diiiiiamond!!!! WOOHOO!!!! Look at all dis money!!! MOOONEY!!! HEHE!!!!" Diamond slapped Race in the back of the head and took the money out of his hand, "Your drunk off yer [butt] Race...go sit down befaw you fall down..." Race screwed up his face and spun around, "Hey!!! whats da big idea? Diamond did you see dat guy hit me in da back of da head! I'll soak im da bum!" Diamond rolled her eyes and led Race over to a table.

Blink watched Medda and Bookmark, horrified, "HERBIE!!! NO!!!! YER HOITIN HIM!!! STOP IT!!!" Silver slapped Blink in the back of the head and snapped, "Awww shuddup ya big baby! It's a stupid chicken!!!!" Blink glanced at Silver and started to sob. Silver looked over at Jack and Spot and threw her hands in the air, "Their gonna kill each otha!!! If I dont stop dis no one will..." Blink nodded and blubbered in a corner. Silver stomped over to Spot and Jack and let out a glass shattering scream. Everyone except Spot and Jack stopped and stared at her. She crossed her arms and tapped her foot. Race put his face in his hands, "What is dat noise!?!?! Diamond make it stop!!!! Oooohhh my head..." Diamond smirked and walked over to Silver, "Ya know da only one dat can stop dese two from fightin is Davey..." Silver and Diamond exchanged glances and mouthed to each other, "Davey..." Spot and Jack stopped wrestling suddenly and looked at each other, "Dave?" The four Mush walked in with a big grin on his face, leading a large horse. Jack turned to the door and glanced at Spot. Spot raised an eyebrow and shrugged. Diamond grinned happily, "Heya Mush!" Silver rolled her eyes, "I give up!!! Dis place is toinin inta a friggin zoo!!!" Spot stifled a laugh and put his arms around Silver. Diamond bounced over to Mush, "Nice horse Mush!" Silver shook her head and sat down muttering, "Unbelievable..."

David Jacobs hurried down the street towards the Lodging House, panting. As he ran he thought about the events of the evening, "Thank [goodness] I got outta there...who knows what dose guys would done ta me..." Dave broke into a run and looked up and down alleys. He came to a stop in front of the Lodging House and burst through the door, "KLOPPMAN!!! Kloppman where's Jack?!?!" Kloppman jerked his head up and looked at Dave, "Oh...Dave...long time no see...their at Irvin Hall...somethin about a party." Dave raised his eyebrow and nodded, "He had been missin for weeks and his friends threw a party...hmmm..." He shrugged and ran out into the streets. As Davey reached Irving Hall, he turned into the doorway and he went head first into the back of the horse and fell to the ground. Everyone looked to see what had made the horse jump, but they didn't see anything there. Herbie had escaped from the clutches of Medda and now seemed like the only one with enough sense at the time...that friggin chicken actually had the brain power to go LOOK what had made the horse jump. Herbie started too peck at Dave's face while Davey just layed there nearly unconscious.

Bookmark took the little wooden sword up again and started jabbing the dull little point at Medda's ribs. Medda was screaming in agony until finally she ran and jumped out the same window Les had fallen from earlier. She landed in that same pile of hay, but instead of running to the middle of the street, she ran to the train station and bought a ticket...away from Bookmark and never to be heard of again.

Mush had taken Skip and the horse into a back room since Herbie was making the horse freak out. Everyone for the most part calmed down, not even glancing in Davey's direction. The Bulls came running into Irving Hall looking for their little escapee, David Jacobs. They were met with a very interesting scene: Race had his head on a table and he was babbling something about "the fight" and all the money he was gonna have. Diamond was slapping him continuously while he yelped about soaking the guy that kept hitting him. Jack and Bookmark were in a booth of one of the tables and she was giggling endlessly. Blink was in a corner with his knees drawn up to his chest sobbing, "Why? Why MY chicken? Why does everybody hafta be going at MY chicken?" Spot was trying desperately to stagger over to Silver who was lying on the edge of the stage looking quite unconcious. Pretty much everybody else was lying around with their mouthes hanging open. The officers exchanged glances and shrugged. They had come for David Jacobs and were quickly escorting him out the door. Dave, who was still extremely disoriented from his run in with the horse's ass, peered down at a small, reddish, squawking chicken.

"Oh what an adorable chicken!" Dave exclaimed. The men looked at each other and nodded in agreement as the chicken waddled out the door and down the dirty streets of the city..
