Thimble Summer

Elizabeth Enright

This lovely story tells of that happy summer when Garnet Linden found a silver thimble in the river bed near her home. From that moment everything went well for her and her family. The drought lifted--and that was good because her father was a farmer. And he got his grant through from the Government--and that was good because he was able to build his big new barn. Garnet's own little pig won a prize at the show, and Garnet and her friend Citronella had a real adventure.
